Without pollinators, the human race and all of the Earth’s natural ecosystems would not survive. The survival of many species of pollinators around the world is under threat. According to The Hummingbird Society 34 species of hummingbird, nearly 10%, are threatened with extinction, according to an analysis by BirdLife International. This painting of a hummingbird represents the beauty of the bird but also asks the question of whether it is hovering on the edge of extinction.
